An exit interview is a critical and essential part of a monitoring visit. At the exit interview, the licensing specialist discusses the results of the visit with the licensee before leaving the facility. Documentation of the exit interview is not required but is considered good practice. The exit interview documentation is recorded in the mobile app in the internal comments field under Site Visit. Documentation includes when the exit interview was conducted, who was present, and any outstanding comments or questions that were noted at that time.
If the licensee is unable to meet for an exit interview, the licensing specialist should share the findings with the person designated in charge of the facility on the day of the visit.
If, after the exit interview, the licensing specialist determines that one or more violations will be cited, the licensing specialist must call or email the licensee to review the changes before issuing the CFS-294. Information about the telephone or email contact should be documented by the licensing specialist in the Site Visit comments field.
