8.3 Begin and End Date of the Stipulation

Generally, the stipulation is effective on the date it is signed by the applicant/licensee and the licensing manager/licensing supervisor. For certain stipulations, the end date is either the continuation date (unless the stipulation will be ended earlier), a date in the future or there is no end date because the stipulation is ongoing for as long as the license is in effect. It is common to negotiate a stipulation that will remain in effect as long as the child care center is operational. However, when a probationary or regular non-expiring license is continued, or there is a relocation, the stipulation must be reviewed and re-evaluated at that time to determine if it should be continued. If it is continued, it must re-entered into the new Application period Condition section.

If a stipulation is tied to an enforcement, the decision and close dates are the mailing date of the stipulation. Use of the mailing date will prevent the stipulation from appearing on the active enforcement report and will also assure that the reference to a stipulation in the Regulation Details section of the public website will drop off the site after a three-year period.
