Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual

2. Stipulation with Conditions Relating to the Physical Plant or Premises

These stipulations set forth unique conditions under which a license will be granted or continued, to address concerns related to the physical plant or premises. The stipulation spells out the extra precautions that must be put in place to address a physical hazard on the property, above and beyond the administrative rule, to assure safety of the physical premises. For example, a stipulation may be executed to require that children receive sight and sound supervision while playing outside at a family child care center, due to a water hazard on the property.

If a center has no outdoor play space available on the premises of the center, the licensee may request an exemption from outdoor play space requirements. The request will describe the plan for accessing and using off-premises play space. See section 2.5. for information on exemptions for off-premises play space.
