8.1 When to Issue an Order to Provide Training

An order to provide training for the licensee’s staff members should be issued when the underlying cause of the administrative rule violation(s) appears to reflect a lack of understanding of the rule. Mandatory training might also be indicated when a pattern of violations becomes apparent. For example, a child care center neglects to report a suspected case of child abuse on two separate occasions, necessitating training for all staff on child abuse and neglect reporting requirements.
