Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
The licensing specialist must monitor the date when all violation(s) identified in the order are to be corrected. The time line for complying with the order is set by the licensing specialist, based on the seriousness of the violation(s), and should not exceed 90 days from the date of the order. In very unusual circumstances, at the request of the licensee, the licensing specialist may, in consultation with the licensing manager/licensing supervisor, grant an extension to the expected date for complying with the order. This would usually only occur when the circumstances causing the delay are outside of the licensee’s control, such as absence due to illness.
The licensing specialist should make a site visit to verify that the order to correct has been implemented within the time frame set forth in the order (or the ruling for the state following an appeal of the order). If the licensee has not made the necessary corrections within the time frame outlined in the order, the licensing specialist should consult with the licensing manager/licensing supervisor regarding the enforcement action that should be taken next, such as forfeiture. If the licensee corrects the violations as instructed in the order, the order is considered closed.
