If the U.S. Postal Service returns the DC-1 letter/CFS-856 as undeliverable due to an incorrect address, the regional staff person ensures that the address was accurate and may investigate to determine if there may be another address that the complaint is referencing. The regional staff person may also attempt a second mailing. However, if no other address is found and there is no alternative address, the complaint should be assigned to a licensing specialist for an on-site visit.
