8.3 Exemption for Off-Premises Play Space

BECR has the authority to grant an exemption for off-premises play space. If a center has no outdoor play space available on the premises of the center, the licensee may request an exemption from outdoor play space requirements by describing the plan for accessing and using the off-premises play space. An off-premises play space exemption granted by BECR is printed on the license certificate and identified in the Condition Details section of the Regulated Child Care and YoungStar Public Search website.

The end date of an exemption for off-premises play space is the last date of the current licensing period, unless the exemption is presumed to be in effect as long as license is in effect. At continuation (or relocation), the licensing specialist must review, re-evaluate and re-enter the exemption for the new licensing period unless it is non-expiring and no end date has been entered.
