2.1.1 Licensing Fee

Licensing fees for new applicants are calculated following the licensing specialist’s initial licensing visit in which s/he measures usable space within the center and reviews other facility considerations to establish the licensed center capacity. Based on this determination and the applicant’s desired opening capacity, the applicant must submit a base license fee of $45.68 with the initial application, and this will be applied toward the total probationary license fees due. Probationary fees are $30.25 + $16.94 per child (based on the licensed capacity) divided by 4. This fee covers the six-month probationary period, or one quarter of the two-year regular license period. Licensing fees must be paid by check or money order or by accessing the E-Payment module in the Child Care Provider Portal.
