Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
Day camp programs pay for a two-year license, and all children in the licensed capacity are included in the count in calculating the per child fee.
Day camps are required to pay the full fee every two years. Regular two-year license fees for day camp will not be prorated, except for the issuance of the regular six-month license after the probationary period (see 4.1 Exceptions for Prorating Fees). To determine how many children are included in the licensed capacity, the licensee will need to determine how the camp will be organized. Below are the options available to the licensee:
Payment Options |
Option 1 If all children in the camp are grouped together, regardless of age, the $16.94 per child fee will be assessed for all children. (This assumes there are at least 4 children under the age of 7 in care). |
Option 2 If all children in the camp are grouped according to age, with children under age 7 cared for in separate and distinct groups, the license capacity of the camp is the total number of children in the camp under the age of 7. The licensing fee of $16.94 per child will be assessed for each child under the age of 7. |
Option 3 If the camp is organized so that some children are grouped together regardless of age, and some children are grouped according to age, with children under age 7 cared for in separate and distinct groups, the licensed capacity is a combination of the directives above. The following formula is used to determine the licensed capacity of the camp: ________ Total number of children under the age of 7 cared for in separate and distinct groups. + ______ Total number of children in all the groups that have children under the age of 7 grouped with children 7 and older. (Note: All children in the group are counted in the licensed capacity. Groups with only children age 7 and older are not counted in the licensed capacity). = ______ This is the total licensed capacity of the camp. The $16.94 per child fee will be assessed on this total. Note: The licensee may choose to license the entire camp and pay the $16.94 per child fee (Option 1), even though children under age 7 receive care in separate and distinct groups. |
