Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
If a licensing specialist is unable to complete all monitoring requirements during the first six-month probationary licensing period due to a voluntary temporary closure, the licensee may be given a second six-month probationary license if the licensee has been making acceptable progress toward successful completion of probationary license requirements. Alternatively, the licensee can be given the option of surrendering his/her probationary license and closing, withdrawing his/her regular license application and closing, or having a regular license denied.
If the center was not operating in substantial compliance with applicable rules when open during the first or second probationary period and voluntarily temporarily closes, the licensee should be given the option of withdrawing his/her license application and closing or having his/her request for a regular license denied.
