6.6 Warning Letter - Licensed Programs Only

If a licensed provider does not correct the violations identified by the CBU on the CFS-294 within 15 days, the CBU may issue a Warning Letter. A warning letter is not an enforcement, but it is a first step in the progression toward enforcement. Warning letters are not authorized by statute, and unlike an enforcement action, cannot be appealed by the licensee. The warning letter calls attention to the provider’s uncorrected violation and serves as notice that BECR will take action by issuing an enforcement action if the issue is not corrected. The warning letter is issued in conjunction with a CFS-294 and is sent by certified and regular mail.

For more information regarding licensing procedures, refer to the licensing procedure chapter titled Warning Letters on how to issue a warning letter. See the WISCCRS User Guide - Enforcements for more information on entering violations and documenting the warning letter.
