4.9.2 Digital Fingerprints

To make fingerprinting services accessible and convenient, the Department of Administration has entered into a contract with Wisconsin Fieldprint® to provide digital fingerprint capture (Livescan) services for state agencies and other entities.

Livescan is an inkless, electronic means of capturing prints in a digitized format and transmitting the digital prints to the WI DOJ for processing. Livescan provides an opportunity to retake a print several times to ensure capture of the best image quality possible. Using Fieldprint® services to collect prints digitally is required.

An interface between Fieldprint, WI DOJ and WISCCRS allows the CBU to receive fingerprint background check results accurately and efficiently.

When scheduling the Fieldprint fingerprint appointment, the individual is required to pay the online Fieldprint fingerprint capture fee ($7.75) and the cost of the FBI and DOJ fingerprint background check ($31.25). Payment may be made using credit/debit card or e-check. At the time of the appointment, the individual provides two forms of identification, at least one of which is a photo ID.
