4.8 Out-of-State Background Checks

The background check law requires that a good faith effort must be made to obtain out-of-state conviction and CPS records from any state or other US jurisdiction (e.g., tribal courts, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Northern Mariana Islands, including Guam) for individuals who are not residents of Wisconsin or who have resided outside of Wisconsin at any time during the preceding five years and were over the age of 18 at the time.
