Child Care Background Check Procedures
The children’s programs included in the IBIS results are all child care programs licensed by BECR, as well as foster homes, adoptive homes, residential care facilities and certified child care operators. A name listed in this section means that the applicant, licensee or operator may have had a license or certificate to operate a children’s facility that was denied or revoked due to a bar specified in the background check law. (Note: It is possible that there may be certification denials and revocations that were coded incorrectly, resulting in an IBIS record for the operator or applicant rather than for the household member. The CBU will investigate the record and determine if the denial or revocation record is accurate.)
