Child Care Background Check Procedures
A household member is a person 10 years of age or older who resides, or is expected to reside, at a regulated child care center and who has, or is expected to have, regular, direct contact with children in care. This may be the spouse, live-in friend, child or other relative of the certified operator or licensee, for example. This also includes individuals who may reside in the home part-time such as shared placement situations. Reside, defined in DCF 13, means to be present at a child care program for more than an aggregate of 14 calendar days within a 90-day period.
