Child Care Background Check Procedures
The Barred Offenses Table identifies by statute number the serious crimes listed in Wis. Stat. § 48.686(1) (c) and other non-criminal offenses that cause a bar to employment, regulatory approval and household member residency. This includes child abuse or neglect findings made by a governmental agency under Wis. Stat. § 48.981(3) (c) 4, and certain welfare fraud related offenses.
Crimes and offenses on the Barred Offenses Table and comparable crimes and offenses from other states or other jurisdictions are statutory bars to caregiving, employment, regulatory approval and household member residency.
