Child Care Certification Policy Manual
Keep in mind the certification definition of “suspension” under DCF 202.02(20w) means a temporary interruption in the regulatory approval, and as such is not eligible to be paid by the subsidy program. In order to prevent a certified operator from being paid during the suspension status, it is important that a suspension status never be modified if the provider is reinstated. Instead a new category shall be added, when the operator certification is reinstated.
However, the suspension status may be modified if the provider is revoked or changed to another inactive status (i.e. non-renewal, etc.). In the example below a suspension can be modified:
Example:
A certified operator is suspended on 3/4/15. At that time the status in WISCCRS should be changed to a “suspended” with an end date of 3/4/15. Then the certification agency revokes certification on 3/31/15. At that time the status in WISCCRS is modified to “revoked” and the end date is modified to 3/31/15. WISCCRS will retain the history and can be viewed by clicking on the scroll icon. Remember to enter the enforcement in addition modifying the category.
