3.6 - Suspension with a Pending Expiration Date

Certification agencies typically send certified operators recertification application materials 60-90 days in advance of the operator’s expiration date. If the certification is suspended just prior to the operator’s expiration date the certification worker changes the operator’s category status to “Suspended”, changes the “end date” to the date of suspension, manually tracks the original end date of the previously approved category and sends recertification materials to the suspended operator 60-90 days in advance of the original expiration date.

If the operator submits the recertification materials the agency may choose to deny an application for recertification for the same basis as the suspension, if appropriate. This denial may be appealed.

The certification agency may process the recertification application but not grant or deny recertification until the suspension is resolved. Suspension due to certification violations is allowable for up to 60 days in accordance days in accordance with DCF 202.06(7)(d).

If the operator does not appeal the suspension and does not submit recertification materials the suspension category may be changed, in this case, to “non-renewal” at the time of the original “end date”. The suspension history will not be lost and is still viewable by clicking on the history/scroll icon.
