Child Care Certification Policy Manual
The certification worker is not required to provide notice to parents regarding the suspension. If the operator was caring for children funded by Wisconsin Shares, parents will receive a notice from the subsidy program that the authorization has ended.
Because certification is a voluntarily form of regulation, the operator, even though suspended, could continue to provide child care during the suspension, but would not be paid by the subsidy program (or by the CACFP) for the time period the program was in suspension status. If the operator has entered into a “temporary closed” agreement with the certification agency, child care shall not be provided. See Section 3.7 regarding temporary closed status.
