3.7 Multiple Locations

One operator may be approved to operate two certified family child care businesses at two different address locations. That is, the operator could be granted two certificates of approval at two different addresses.

Example 1: A child care provider is certified to provide care in his / her own home during the week but is also granted a second certification to provide in-home certified child care at a child’s home on the weekends. In this situation, the operating hours on the respective certificates of approval should not overlap.

Example 2: A certified child care provider operates two separate certified facilities / locations at the same time by hiring qualified employees to provide care and supervision of children. In this situation the certification agency must verify the employee’s qualifications and work schedules.

Note: In either of the examples above, an application for each location is required. See section 3.8 regarding Residence and the WISCCRS User Guide – Changes for additional guidance.
