Child Care Certification Policy Manual
If the water test indicates the water is unsafe, the operator shall contact the local public health department or the DNR to come up with a suitable plan of correction. Wells must be treated and re-tested until they are determined to be safe. Use of bottled water is a temporary solution to a well that tests bacteriologically unsafe. If the test indicates the water is unsafe the Certification agency may:
Allow the applicant to withdraw his / her application until the well is treated and the water is tested safe.
Enter into a stipulation that bottled water be used for drinking, cooking, hand washing, laundering and a time-frame with which the well must be treated and retested.
