5.0 - Public Funding / Wisconsin Shares

State law requires counties / tribes to certify providers who receive public funding, unless the provider is state licensed or established and operated by a public school board. The Department of Children and Families Bureau of Child Care Subsidy Administration (BCCSA) and MECA help eligible low-income families with their child care expenses while the parents are at work or other approved activity. The department is given oversight responsibility for the administration of the Wisconsin Shares program by Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter DCF 201 – Administration of Child Care Funds.
