Child Care Certification Policy Manual
The certification agency shall determine its procedures / policies regarding media requests. Typically, the certification worker, who may have taken the phone call, does not attempt to answer any specific questions or offer any further information to the media contact but rather refers the media request to the person designated in the agency to respond to media requests.
For critical incidents, in particular, such as those incidents that may generate media interest such as a child harmed while in certified care, the certification agency shall alert the Department by contacting the certification specialist or the Bureau of Regional Operations Child Care Coordinator.
