Requesting Nominations for Annual Governor's Foster Care Awards Foster families throughout Wisconsin play an important role in the lives of children who need a temporary home, providing care and guidance for them. In recognition of May as Foster Care Month in Wisconsin, Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary Emilie Amundson will be recognizing foster families and a foster youth who have made outstanding contributions to children in foster care with the 2023 Governor’s Foster Care Awards. The award ceremony, to be held at the State Capitol on May 25, 2023, will highlight the special commitment of foster parents who have guided and cared for children through difficult times. The event will also celebrate the incredible accomplishments of foster youth who are examples of the bright future possible for foster children across the state.
