Data Breach Affecting EPPIC Debit Card Users

EPPIC has been notified that 400 Wisconsin child support debit cards may have been affected by a significant card compromise by a large organization that may impact thousands of VISA and MasterCard users nationwide. EPPIC continues to monitor all debit cards to identify and prevent possible fraudulent card usage. Cardholders are not liable for fraudulent transactions.

EPPIC will mail replacement cards to the 400 potentially impacted Wisconsin cardholders at no cost. Replacement cards will have a new card number, expiration date, and 3-digit security code. The new debit cards should be received by the end of February, or the beginning of March. The original debit card will remain active for 14 calendar days after the new card is mailed, unless the cardholder receives and activates the replacement debit card before the 14 days has passed. Undeliverable cards will be returned to EPPIC and customers will have to conact EPPIC customer service, at 1-877-253-3686, to provide a current address and request a new card.

Within two (2) days of the new card being issued, EPPIC will place automated telephone calls to affected cardholders, to notify them of the breach and the issuance of a replacement card. Cardholders can contact EPPIC, at 1-877-253-3686, to report fraudulent activity, or to find out if they are affected by this breach.
