Governor Walker Declares March as Social Workers Month in Wisconsin

Social workers stand up for people every day. These include people who are experiencing devastating illnesses and mental health crises, our veterans, children, families and communities.

In recognition of the outstanding of efforts of social workers throughout the state, Governor Walker has issued a proclamation declaring March as Social Worker Month in Wisconsin.

As part of the celebration, the Department of Children and Families will be recognizing several human service professionals who have made exemplary efforts to help their neighbors, support families and protect children at the 2017 Governor’s Caring for Kids Awards to be held on Wednesday, March 29 at the State Capitol.
