Policy Changes & CW Report

Tara Muender

Screening practice at CPS Access varies greatly from county to county. DSP staff recently studied a sample of CPS and Services Reports to review the quality of documented information, evaluate decision-making, determine the incidence of errors in screening, and the common types of errors. Results from this review suggest that counties are not using Services Reports correctly, i.e. Services Reports are being used when CPS Reports are required.

Based on these findings, DSP has determined that more guidance and clarity around the use of Services Reports is needed.  A section on Services Reports will be added to Access and Initial Assessment Standards due out in the spring.  In addition, changes will be made to the look and function of Services Reports in eWiSACWIS.
