Rationale for Reasonable Suspicion of Program Violation:

The Department of Children and Families and Brown County suspended this child care provider from the Wisconsin Shares program due to a combination of red flags signifying Shares violations. The suspension was based upon the provider’s failure to maintain and submit accurate attendance records as required by the Shares program. Brown County conducted an investigation and identified that from the period 1/1/2009 through 1/9/2010 the provider was overpaid $39,733.45. Brown County has evidence indicating attendance records were altered 42 times on 11 children’s records. Brown County conducted an onsite visit on 1/29/10, the provider was unable to provide investigators with requested attendance records from 1/1/09 through 12/31/09. Some, but not all, attendance records were turned in by the end of the business day 1/29/10. Records for 78 children were not supplied to Brown County Human Services until 2/4/10.
