Rationale for Reasonable Suspicion of Program Violation:
The Department of Children and Families revoked the license of this child care program in part as a result of violations of Wisconsin Shares program on January 23, 2009.
The Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services (MCDHHS) notified the Department by a letter dated January 9, 2009 that Pooh Bear Child Care Academy, LLC and Pooh Bear Child Care Academy, LLC #2's had been suspended from the Wisconsin Shares program and that an overpayment recoupment was being sought. These actions were taken by the MCDHHS due to the results of their audit conducted in which they determined that the provider was operating over capacity, had over reported attendance, billed and was paid for children that were no longer in attendance, and billed and was paid for children that were not included in sign in/sign out attendance records.
Due to these serious discrepancies for the period of May 11, 2008 through September 27, 2008, the county established child care overpayments made to Pooh Bear Child Care Academy, LLC and Pooh Bear Child Care Academy, LLC #2 in the amount of $48,331.45.
