Wisconsin Shares Suspension

Provider Name Licensed Capacity* Shares Authorizations* Most Recent Monthly Payment
Peanuts Family Child Care 8 5 $5,793 (August)

*At suspension unless otherwise noted

Rationale for Reasonable Suspicion of Program Violation:

The Department of Children and Families suspended this provider from the Wisconsin Shares program because Milwaukee County Health and Human Services Department established an Intentional Program Violation (IPV), which had already led to the Department revoking the provider's license.

The license of this child care program was revoked by the Department of Children and Families on March 13, 2009.

The Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services (MCDHHS) notified the Department by a letter dated February 20, 2009, that Peanuts Family Child Care's was temporarily suspended from the Wisconsin Shares program March 7, 2009 and that an overpayment recoupment was being sought. These actions were taken by the MCDHHS due to the results of an audit conducted by the county in which they determined that the licensee and/or a person under her supervision had submitted for payment hours of alleged attendance for children of employees that were contrary to the employee/parents' work schedules. In addition, the county determined that attendance and/or payment records were inaccurate and reflected that the provider was caring for more children than her license allowed.

Due to serious discrepancies between attendance records, parent's work schedules and billing for children purported to be in attendance for the period reviewed (December 2, 2007 through June 14, 2008), the county has established child care overpayments made to Peanuts Family Child Care in the amount of $44,863.85.
