Enhanced Case Management
As a supervisor, you may be making choices with your staff on what Enhanced Case Management (ECM) courses are appropriate to meet the 12 hours of ECM annual training requirement. For a complete listing of our ECM courses, go to PTS Learning Center. Once there, go to the Training Catalog, then to the Additional Options category. Choose Enhanced Case Management to see all of your choices.
When sending staff to training programs, it’s always a good idea to
prepare them ahead of time. Once staff are scheduled for training, explain
to them why they are going, what you hope they will learn, and how they can
use the information on the job. When they complete training, ask them
how it went, what they learned, and what new practices they plan on
implementing.
ECM Equivalency/waiver Requests
PTS recognizes that local W-2 agencies routinely provide their staff with ongoing professional development. In order to recognize local expertise, PTS awards ECM equivalency to local agency training efforts which fit within the Enhanced Case Management intent.
Waivers from the Enhanced Case Management requirement can also be granted to local staff engaged in educational programs that provide expertise in case management processes.
In order to evaluate local agency requests PTS needs to have the title of the learning experience, a brief description, the learning objectives and the date of the training. When you request a waiver, include the staff name, a program description and the number of hours the agency would like waived.
To request enhanced case management equivalency/waiver, please email, FAX or USPS mail your waiver request with the supporting documentation to Gerry Mayhew (Germaine.Mayhew@wisconsin.gov), FAX 608/261-6376, 201 E. Washington Ave., Room A200, Madison WI 53707-7972. You must also send a copy of the request to your DFS Regional Office. Whenever possible, send your request at least two weeks before the training event is to occur. This allows turnaround time for your request to be processed.
