ACTION STATEMENT Submit CY 1999 plan and report outlining progress in addressing CY 1998 plan by February 26. Last year the Department distributed $6,750,000 in federal Title IV-E Incentive Funds to counties. We were able to claim these additional federal IV-E funds as a result of a review by this Department and MAXIMUS. Funds will be allocated to counties again in CY 1999. Dollar amounts will be the same as in CY 1998. Statutory provisions require each county to spend a minimum of 50% of the annual allocation for children who are at risk of abuse or neglect to prevent the need for child abuse and neglect intervention services. The remaining funds are to be expended for services and projects to assist children and families. A final report that addresses your countys progress in achieving the plan that you submitted for the utilization of CY 1998 Title IV Incentive funds is due by February 26. The report should identify each measurable goal/objective established for 1998 and your agencys results in achieving them. Also by February 26, each county must also submit a plan outlining the program and measurable outcomes you anticipate addressing in CY 1999. Staff of the Bureau of Programs and Policies, the Bureau of Community and Family Development and Area Administration from the Office of Strategic Finance will be available to provide technical assistance. Program reports for CY 1998 and plans for CY 1999 should be sent to the Area
Administrator with a copy to Mary Conroy, Division of Children and Family Services, 1 W.
