Re: |
2003 Wisconsin Act 82; Disclosure of Juvenile
Records |
The Legislature has passed and the Governor has recently
signed into law 2003 Wisconsin Act 82 (Assembly Bill 62). This new law
relates to truancy dispositional orders and disclosure of juvenile
records. While the law focuses on changes to Ch. 938, there is included in
the law a minor change to s. 48.396, Stats.
In essence, the law allows the sharing of certain
juvenile records related to truancy, requires truancy court orders to
include a description of what acts constitute a violation of the court
order, and requires schools to notify the court or supervising agency of
any violations of the court order.
A copy of the law has been attached for your
convenience.
