STATE OF Wisconsin
I am pleased to announce the kick-off of the nomination period for a new project entitled "Emerging Practices in Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention" through the Children's Bureau, Office on Child Abuse and Neglect (OCAN) of the Department of Health and Human Services. This project is aimed at identifying the different kinds of prevention programs operating across the country and discovering the best available information in emerging and promising practices in child abuse and neglect prevention.
Attached is an announcement of the project from the Children's Bureau. I encourage you all to nominate programs with which you are involved or of which you are aware. Nominations are due by 5:30 PM on August 15, 2002. Eligibility criteria and guidance about how to nominate an innovative child abuse and neglect prevention program can be accessed at http://www.calib.com/nccanch/prevmnth/nominate. Please share this information with agencies or programs that might have an interest in such a project.
This is an excellent opportunity for the State of Wisconsin to receive recognition for the good work we do for children and families.
