Foster Parent Insurance Program Brochure

Attached is a copy of the recently revised brochure entitled "The Foster/Treatment Foster and Family-Operated Group Home Insurance Program." The publication number for this brochure is PFS-2010.

This program has been in existence for over ten years and we have approved hundreds of claims under the program. This is one method by which we can provide some support to our valued foster parents. At the same time, I and other Division staff meet regularly with groups of foster parents in various venues and have been informed that not all foster parents are aware of the program's existence.

It would be appreciated if you would assure that all of your foster parents receive a copy of this brochure. In addition, it should be provided to all new foster parents at the time of licensure, as reflected in the recently revised foster home licensing rules (Ch. HFS 56, Adm. Code). This will also be available on our website in a pdf format for you to download and reproduce.
