Re:

Title IV-E Eligibility and Reimbursability Determination Regional Training

The Division of Children and Family Services, in conjunction with Maximus, Inc., is conducting a series of regional training sessions on the updated Title IV-E Eligibility and Reimbursability Policy Manual. The revised manual, which will be distributed via the informational memo series later this month, has been updated to reflect the new requirements of the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997 and the final federal regulations regarding that Act.

The objectives of the training are: 1) to provide an in-depth understanding of the Title IV-E eligibility and reimbursability program requirements for conducting initial IV-E determinations and redeterminations; 2) to review how changes in federal and state IV-E policy are reflected in the policy manual and forms; and
3) to discuss the financial implications of accurate eligibility determinations for the State of Wisconsin and the counties.

Encouraged to attend the training sessions are county staff who have primary responsibility for making Title IV-E eligibility determinations and their supervisors. Those counties participating in the IV-E centralized eligibility unit should also attend to assure that agency staff have the most current information to work effectively with Maximus.

Listed below are the training dates and locations. Please complete the attached registration form and return it as soon as possible. Detailed information, including a map to your selected training site and an agenda, will be distributed to registrants along with a confirmation notice. Early registration is suggested given that attendance is limited to approximately 40 people per site. There is no charge to attend this training.
