Re: Incorporated Group Home Rates For 1998

Attached is a list showing incorporated group homes with rates established for 1998. The Department establishes a rate for incorporated group homes from budget information requested in Memo Series DCS 96-07 last issued 12/20/96 for newly licensed group homes and from budget information requested in a memo dated October 10, 1997 from Patty Hammes and Bill Fiss. The FFP basis column in the attached table designates the FFP percentage status which is explained on the last page of the table.

Payments made to incorporated group homes should be reported on the group home payroll. Payments to unincorporated group homes follow the Uniform Foster Care Rate System. Payments made to unincorporated group homes should be reported on the foster family care payroll.

When the attached list does not show a rate, group home directors or licensees should follow the instructions in Memo Series DCS 96-07 or the 12/20/96 Hammes/Fiss memo. County departments are advised of possible audit exception for purchasing services from incorporated group homes without established rates.

Group homes are asked to report any errors or omissions on group home facility names to Don Dorn at the address below. Also, group homes not in agreement with their rate or having questions on how to change their rate should contact Thomas Smith at (608) 266-2558.

Thank you for reviewing this information memo.
