Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) Overview and Resources
CFSR Overview
The federal Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) is a two-phase process consisting of a formal self-assessment of performance, i.e the CFSR Statewide Assessment, and an onsite review of child welfare service outcomes and program systematic factors. Following the CFSR on-site review, states are responsible for developing a Program Improvement Plan (PIP) designed to achieve specific program improvements in for those outcome and systemic factors where the state was found to need improvement as part of the on-site review.
