Amy and Jerry Ruelle from Weyauwega, WI

Foster parents provide safe, loving homes for children, but they can also help dreams come true. Over the past 11 years, Amy and Jerry Ruelle have cared for a number of foster children. Many of the children that they have welcomed into their home have been particularly challenging, yet the Ruelles have remained dedicated foster parents and have even adopted foster children. It is very clear that the children placed in their home are truly accepted into their home and hearts and are treated just as if the child was their own. The Ruelles are also very dedicated to maintaining relationships with biological families and often include biological parents in every aspect of the child's life.

Recently the Ruelles welcomed a young girl into their home that had a particularly challenging adjustment to living in their home. Her progress has been incredible since entering the Ruelle's home, far better than anyone could have anticipated. They were able to help her connect with the Make a Wish Foundation, where the girl requested the chance to meet with Disney star Miley Cyrus. Her wish came true in April 2010 when the Ruelles traveled with the girl to Hollywood to meet Miley.
