Agency Adoptions and Independent AdoptionsA licensed private adoption agency can assist families interested in adoption, including identified (private) placements. They can describe costs and procedures, provide counseling services for birth parents and prospective adoptive parents, complete an adoptive home study, supervise the adoptive placements and provide post-adoption services. Limitations apply to payments made in agency and independent adoptions.
