Interstate Compact On the Placement of Children
Arranging the Child Placement
Once the request to place a child has been approved, the local requesting agency and the
local receiving agency in the proposed state of placement work together to arrange
the details of the actual placement. Final agreements, discussed
at the time of referral, are made regarding payment for
the child’s care, the type of monitoring for the placement,
and the frequency of supervisory reports to be sent to the
sending agency.
After the completion of these plans and agreements, the child is moved to the receiving state. The sending agency notifies the receiving state of the placement by using a form titled: Report on Child’s Placement Date or Change in Placement Request (DCF-F-CFS0100B) (PDF, 49KB).
