Governor's Council on Domestic Abuse
The Governor’s Council on Domestic Abuse was created in
the Department of Health and Social Services by statutory mandate in 1979.
The Council consists of 13 members appointed for staggered three-year
terms. The Council advises the Secretary of the Department of Children and
Families and the legislature on matters of domestic abuse policy
and funding. The Council also serves as a sounding board and resource for
citizens of the state on domestic abuse issues.
