Numbered / Informational Memos
Numbered Memos
Numbered memos are policies written by the Division
of Safety and Permanency (DSP) within the Department of Children and Families. These memos create or explain requirements for
child welfare agencies. Agencies must follow instruction or
interpretations explained in these memos. Numbered and Informational
memos often explain things written in administrative rules, such as
explaining exceptions to requirements in an administrative rule.
These memos are available on a listserv. The listserv is
free, but does require an active e-mail address.

Informational Memos
Informational (Info) Memos provide guidance and information for child
welfare agencies. Info memos are created by DCFS and aim to assist
agencies or provide information to help guide their practice decisions.
