Milwaukee Child Care Administration

Milwaukee Early Care Administration's (MECA) mission is to promote excellence in early childhood care and education in Milwaukee County. Access to affordable, high-quality child care enhances children's development and families ability to work. Our staff works closely with the community to train, certify, and monitor family child care providers; promote the Wisconsin Shares child care program; and maintain the integrity of child care in Milwaukee County. Family child care providers can care for up to three (3) children under the age of seven (7) years, and up to six (6) children total including children ages (7) and older.
