Child Support & Aid/Benefit Programs

Information for:

• families in the W-2, SSI Caretaker Supplement, Kinship Care programs
• families in the Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program who have a child support case with a county agency
• families who got cash benefits in the past
• families in the BadgerCare Plus program that were referred to child support
• and parents who pay child support to these families

When applying for benefits or services from these aid/benefit program, families automatically get child support services without having to pay the application fee. These families must cooperate with their child support agency in order to get the benefits and services from their aid/benefit program.

Some of the support paid to families getting cash benefits will be used to pay for the benefits they receive. Some of the past-due support paid to families who used to get cash benefits will be used to pay for the benefits they received.
