Intercepted Tax Returns
- How it works
- If a payer is married and filed a joint return, the payer's current spouse is entitled to a portion of the intercepted tax refund. To receive it, the spouse must file an Injured Spouse form, which is available on the IRS website. Click here to download the Injured Spouse form from the IRS web.
- Tax intercept hotline, 1-800-304-3107, where paying parents can get more information about the intercepted federal tax return.
- When will the parent get the support payment from the intercepted tax return?
Support Payment Record
If you need a record of your support payments, you can get a free copy of your account history. (For example, child support is included as income for the Wisconsin Homestead Tax Credit.) Your account history for 2011 will show all payments made and/or received for the calendar year. To get a copy of your payment record:
- Sign on or sign up to the Child Support Online Services web site.
- Call the KIDS Information Line and talk with a customer representative, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
