Support payments

Payment Timelines

Time limits for sending income withholdings to the Trust Fund, processing payments, and sending payments to families are set by federal regulations and state law.

The first payment from income withholding and the first payment to a debit card account take longer than following payments.

The Trust Fund is the payment processing center and processes all payments every day except Sundays and holidays. Each payment is posted to the child support KIDS system overnight, and can be seen on the Child Support Online Services website the next business day. It generally takes another 2-business days before the payments are posted to a debit card or direct deposit account. Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays do not count as business days. So, if the payment is posted on KIDS on a Friday, the money will be on the debit card or in the direct deposit account the following Tuesday.

Please note: If a family is now receiving cash benefits or had received cash benefits in the past, the family might not receive all the support that is paid.
