Paying your R&D fee by coupon

Each January, a R&D fees notice and a special coupon will be mailed to you. See sample Notice and coupon. If R&D fees are still owed and your employer does not withhold support, you will also get a R&D notice with a coupon in April, July, and October.

If you owe past-due R&D fees, you can print a R & D Fee coupon from Child Support Online Services (registration required) or download a Quick Print R&D fee coupon. The quick print coupons do not contain your personal information like your coupons on the Child Support Online Services site.

Using income withholding to pay your R&D fee

Income withholding is also used to collect R&D fees. Income withholding for this fee is only used when you do not pay the yearly fee in full, or you still owe these fees from previous years.

If still owed, we will ask your employer to withhold R&D fees that are past-due three times a year (spring, summer, and fall). If you have more than one employer, only one of your employers will get a R&D withholding notice.

Please note: if your employer withholds past-due fees, your employer may charge a separate withholding fee. To avoid this fee, use the Quick Print R&D fee coupon or download your coupon from the Child Support Online Services site.
