If past-due support is still owed when current support ends

If past-due child support is owed, support cases are still enforceable.

If the order for current support ends, and past-due child support is owed, you should check with your child support agency to make sure you have a court order for payment on the past-due support. (This assumes you are getting case management services from your child support agency.)

Income withholding may continue at the same level as before. Cases with past-due support may be enforced up to 20 years after the youngest child reaches the age of 18.
